A story is a real or imaginary narration of actions that may be prose or poetry intended to arouse interest, amuse, or educate listeners or readers. Robert Louis Stevenson, a noted storyteller, says: There are only three ways to write a story. The writer may take a plot and then make the characters fit them, or take a character and choose events and situations that develop that character, or he may take a certain atmosphere and make the action and people express or embody it.
