Politics
Books number: 984
Politics (from Greek: Πολιτικά, politiká, "city affairs") is the set of activities associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations between individuals, such as the distribution of resources or prestige. The academic study of politics is referred to as political science.
It can be used positively in the context of a compromising and nonviolent "political solution", or described as "the art or science of government," but it often also carries a negative connotation. For example, abolitionist Wendell Phillips declared, "We don't play politics; anti-slavery is not half joking with us.
