في نص: «من أوراق أبي الطيب المتنبي» 1995 يستعير محمد جبريل كل أدوات النص المحقَّق، ويتلبس هنا المؤلف لبوس المحقِّق بكل أدواته التحقيقية التي يستعين بها في كتابة النص المحقَّق. ولا يتوانى محمد جبرايل أن يشير في جزء من أجزاء النص إلى طبيعة المحقق لا المؤلف بدءًا من العنوان الخارجي على الغلاف، فهو يصف نفسه بنفس التوصيف الذي قام عليه متنه الروائي فحمل العنوان مع كلمة »رواية» تلك الإشارة الدالة «تحقيق وتقديم: محمد جبريل» وليس «بقلم» أو «تأليف» ويستمر المؤلف في اقتباس دور المحقِّق ففي المقدمة التي يصدِّر بها النص حيث يذكر حقيقة هذه الأوراق، وقد جاءت بعنوان:«حكاية هذه الأوراق»، ذكر فيها لروايات ثلاث تتحدث عن مصدر هذه الأوراق وكيف وصلت إليه فذكر قائلاً:«تباينت الروايات في أي الأماكن ترك أبو الطيب هذه الأوراق؟ ومن الذي عثر عليها للمرة الأولى؟ قال البعض:إن هذه الأوراق عُثر عليها ضمن متعلقات أبي الطيب في الموضع نفسه الذي شهد معركته الأخيرة ومصرعه، ورواية ثانية: أنها كانت ضمن ما حمله أحد اللصوص من متاع المتنبي أودعها بيته القريب من بغداد، ولحقته الوفاة دون أن يدرك قيمتها، فطن الأحفاد لخطورة ما تحويه فأذاعوه، ورواية ثالثة: إن أحد المارة وجد حقيبة صغيرة في الموضع نفسه الذي صُرع فيه المتنبي فحملها إلى بغداد، وفحصتها الأعين الخبيرة فأعطت المقابل الذي استحوذت به عليها، وظلت في موضعها في مكتبة خاصة حتى قيض الله كاتب هذه السطور فأخرجها إلى النور»(الرواية ص:6،5)

Muhammad Jibril

An Egyptian novelist and short story writer, born in "Alexandria" on February 17, 1938 AD. His books exceed fifty books. His father was an accountant and translator at the same time and had his own library. Muhammad Jibril benefited from his father's library in his first readings and considered it a main reason for his love of literature. He started his working life in 1959 AD as an editor for Al-Gomhouria newspaper with the late Rushdi Saleh, then he worked for Al-Masaa newspaper. From January 1967 to July 1968, he worked as editor of the monthly "Social Reform" magazine, which was concerned with cultural issues. He worked as an expert in the Arab Center for Media Studies for Population, Development and Reconstruction. Worked as editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper in the Sultanate of Oman (nine years). He now works as head of the cultural department of the evening newspaper. The publisher, Fadwa Al-Bustani, adopted the publication of his literary works, out of her belief in the universality of man. The published books on Muhammad Jibril and his literature amounted to (13) books. Some of his short stories were published in the Friday literary supplement of the Egyptian Al-Ahram newspaper. I also studied his works in the universities of the Sorbonne, Lebanon and Algeria. He is married to the writer and critic Zainab Al-Assal and has two sons, Amal and Walid. Some Egyptian intellectuals nominated him for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
