مَلْحمةٌ إنسانيةٌ متفرِّدةٌ صاغَها الشاعرُ في هذا الدِّيوان، مُحتفيًا باكتشافِ «آدم» للبِدايات؛ لعَلاقتِه بالفردوسِ وازْدِهائِه قبلَ أنْ تَغْزوَه الخُصومةُ ويُغلَّفَ الجمالُ بالقَلَق، وبالأرضِ في طبيعتِها الأولى، و«حوَّاء» التي هي جزءٌ مِنه، والأكثرُ تأثيرًا ووقوعًا في النفْسِ من ذلك كلِّه عَلاقتُه بالله؛ بالإشكاليَّةِ الأزَليَّةِ بينَ الرغبةِ العارمةِ في ممارسةِ الحريةِ على كمالِها غيرَ مَنْقوصة، وبينَ طاعةِ الإلهِ وابتغاءِ مَرْضاتِه والخشيةِ من عقابِه. يَصُوغُ «صلاح لبكي» بمفرداتِه الخاصةِ تلك اللحظاتِ النُّورانيَّةَ التي نكتشِفُ فيها الكوْنَ بجمالِه وآلامِه. يَرصُدُ الحِيرةَ والقَلَق، والرَّغْبةَ في التخلُّصِ مِنَ الذَّنْب، والسعْيَ الدائمَ للبحثِ عَنِ الحَقِيقة، وعَنِ السَّبِيل.

Salah Labaki

Salah Labaki: A Lebanese writer, politician, and journalist, he excelled in poetry and prose, and he is one of the pioneers of innovation in Lebanese poetry. His father was a writer in the diaspora and the owner of the newspaper “Al-Raqib” and “Al-Manahir”. Salah bin Naoum Labaki was born in San Paolo, Brazil, and soon completed his second year, his father took him on a trip back home to Lebanon, where he learned the basics of reading and writing at the hands of Hanna Al-Maliki. After that, he joined the School of the Capuchin Fathers in Baabdat and received private lessons in the French language. He then studied at the Hikma School in Beirut, then at the Aintoura School from which he graduated in 1927, where he obtained his high school diploma in 1930. He worked as a teacher at the Wisdom Institute during his university studies, contacted senior Lebanese politicians and worked in their offices, and practiced law and journalism, so his name became prominent. wrote for several newspapers; Including: Al-Bashir, Al-Hadith, Al-Maarad, Al-Shara’, and “The Call of the Homeland.” He also gave several lectures on contemporary Arabic poetry at the Institute of Higher Arabic Studies in Cairo. He was a member of the Lebanese National Society and later became its secretary. He was also a member of the Baabdati Charitable Society and headed the Ahl al-Qalam Society. He belonged to the Syrian National Party, and became the deputy head of the party, and left it in 1937 after he became a general representative. He tried to join the "Lebanese Kataeb" party, but the party leader refused, advising him to be a friend of the party, not a member of it. He was awarded the French Academic Medal, an honorary doctorate degree from the California International Institute, and the Officer Rank of the Cedar Medal. He has an abundant literary prose and poetic production; In terms of poetry, he has several collections, such as: “Moon Swing”, “Days”, “Sam”, “Strangers” and “Nostalgia”. As for the prose works, they include: “From the Depths of the Mountain” and “Lebanon the Poet”. He also wrote several critical articles, translated a book about the French writer "Baudelaire", and his poems were translated into Spanish. He died in 1955 in Beit Meri, Lebanon.
