Suhail Zakar

He was born in the Syrian city of Hama in 1936 from a middle-class family. His father worked in commercial businesses, and he suffered great losses as a result of what happened in Hama during the days of the French mandate over Syria. Providing a livelihood and cooperating with the family.

At the same time, he continued to read various kinds of books, he read a lot about existentialism and nationalism, and he tended to read history books. He obtained a private study in 1952, obtaining a middle school certificate, and after that he worked as a teacher and agent in the Hama countryside. While he was teaching, he continued reading and studying, so he thought about getting a high school diploma, and things were not easy. In 1956, he reached the age of performing the military service, during which the tripartite aggression against Egypt was taking place, and he was present at the time in the Sheikh Miskin area.

While performing the compulsory service, he registered in order to obtain a high school diploma. Of course, the conditions were harsh and difficult, and he felt the bitterness of life and the hardship of living. He used to travel from Sheikh Miskeen to Damascus at night to arrive in the morning in order to perform exams, exams, and return. He was enjoying a good sleep during that period.

Finally, he learned while in the service that he had succeeded and excelled and took the history course more than 190 degrees out of 200. As a result of this, and as soon as the compulsory service ended, he was asked to join the Military College.
