Book Description

Psychology (2nd Edition) is an invaluable resource for instructors seeking to guide their introductory psychology students toward a deeper understanding of the discipline. It addresses the common challenge of students arriving with preconceived notions about psychology, often derived from pop psychology sources, and struggling to differentiate between credible scientific information and pseudoscience.

This groundbreaking textbook, authored by Scott Lilienfeld and published by Allyn & Bacon, goes well beyond the standard coverage of critical thinking found in other psychology textbooks. It not only encourages students to cultivate their critical thinking skills but also equips them with the necessary tools to effectively apply these skills. Furthermore, it offers an innovative interactive review system that helps students consolidate and retain key concepts from the course.

In essence, Psychology: From Inquiry to Understanding is a comprehensive and forward-thinking educational tool designed to empower students to think critically, enabling them to become discerning consumers of psychological information both within and outside the classroom.
