Lana Abdel Rahman (1975), a Lebanese writer living in Cairo. She studied at the Lebanese University in Beirut and the American University in Cairo. She works as a journalist and is the author of six novels and two collections of short stories. In 2009, she was chosen as one of eight participants in the opening ceremony of the "Work of the Book" episode, and published excerpts from her last novel of Margaret's Song in the anthology of the seminar under the title "Letters to Jan Andrea". Her novel "Cairo Snow" was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.

Lina Abdel-Rahman obtained a BA from the Department of Arabic Language from Beirut University in 1997, a MA in Literary Studies from the Department of Arabic Language in 2007, and a PhD on the subject of biography in the Lebanese women’s novel in 2010. She has been working in cultural journalism since 2000, She worked for a number of Arab newspapers, such as Al-Safir, Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Akhbar Al-Adab, Al-Bayan, and Al-Hayat. She worked for Al-Kifah Al-Arabi newspaper in Beirut from 2001 to 2003. She is currently the deputy editor-in-chief of the Egyptian newspaper Sawt Al-Balad, and editor-in-chief of Point of Light, an electronic cultural website. Her first novel, "The Gardens of the Mirage", was published in 2006. She resides in Egypt, a member of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate, a member of the Arab Journalists Union, a member of the Egyptian Writers Union, and a member of the Story Club in Cairo.
