The current structure of Penguin Random House was established through a landmark merger finalized on 1 July 2013, combining Penguin Group with Random House. Initially, Bertelsmann held a 53% stake in the new joint venture, while Pearson PLC owned the remaining 47%. This structure remained until 18 December 2019, when Bertelsmann became the sole owner, solidifying Penguin Random House as one of the largest and most influential publishing companies in the world.

Penguin Books, the core division of Penguin Group, has its registered office in the City of Westminster, London, and operates as Penguin Books Ltd in the UK. Beyond the UK, Penguin maintains a strong international presence with separate divisions and offices in the United States, Ireland, New Zealand, India, Australia, Canada, China, Brazil, and South Africa, ensuring its books reach readers across the globe.
