Dawan Publishing and Distribution is an independent Egyptian company specializing in the publishing and distribution of books and printed materials. Founded in 2008, it has successfully published nearly 300 diverse titles, including novels, intellectual and social works, essays, classical and colloquial poetry, as well as literary works in the fields of Islamic civilization and social and administrative sciences.
The publishing house's publications have enjoyed widespread popularity among the Arab public, with many books receiving widespread media attention and nominations for prestigious literary awards. Among its most notable publications are:
"The End of History" and "Materialist Philosophy and the Deconstruction of Man" by Abdel Wahab El-Messiri.
"Headless" by Mohamed El-Ghannam (Sakia El-Sawy Literary Award).
"I Will Tell About You" by Ahmed Mahna and "Men in the Red Suit" by Mohamed Sabry (State Award).
"The Last Little Bit of Night" by Erin Youssef (Ahmed Fouad Negm Award for Colloquial Poetry).
The publishing house has also organized several prominent cultural festivals, such as the Book Exchange Festival in Cairo and Alexandria, as well as collective publishing festivals and youth writers' forums. The publishing house also established "Beit Dowin" in downtown Cairo, a cultural and artistic center that has hosted more than 2,400 cultural and artistic events.
The publishing house was founded by Ahmed El-Bohy and Ahmed Mahna, who played a major role in establishing and managing the "Egyptian Pocket Blogs" series, which focuses on publishing the works of young bloggers in the Arab world. Mohamed Mofeed (Director of Operations and Distribution) and Dr. Ahmed Salama (Director of Editing and Proofreading) also co-manage the publishing house.
