«أبو القاسم: هو الحبُّ يا سامية يترقرق في دماء الكريم فتزداد كرمًا، ويتسرَّب إلى نفس الخبيث فتَكرُم. هو الحب، ذلك الجَمال تعتذر به الدنيا عن شرورها. هو الحب، بغيره لا حياة، وبإجدابه لا مياه. هو الحب.»

يَضم هذا الكتابُ مجموعةً من النصوص التي كانت موضوعاتٍ لتمثيلياتٍ إذاعية قدَّمها الكاتب الكبير «ثروت أباظة»، ورأى أن يَضمها في كتابٍ للقراءة؛ لذا فهي أشبه بالمسرحية وإن غاب عنها الشكل المسرحي الذي يكون أمام جمهورٍ من المُتفرِّجين. وتتشابه موضوعات هذه النصوص في أن جعلَت من التاريخ العربي والإسلامي سياقًا عامًّا تدور فيه الأحداث، لكنها تنوَّعَت من حيث الأفكار؛ فكل نصٍّ يتضمن فكرةً قائمة بذاتها تحمل الكثير من الحكمة والمعاني السامية، وتُعلي من قيمة الحب، وتُبرِز الصراع الدائم بين الخير والشر. وقد اتخذ الكاتب بعض الشخصيات التاريخية لتكون فاعلًا في الأحداث، مثل: «أبو جعفر المنصور»، و«هارون الرشيد»، و«المأمون»، و«المتوكل»، و«البحتري»، وغيرها من الشخصيات ذات الأدوار المؤثِّرة في التاريخ العربي والإسلامي، التي سردها بأسلوبٍ رشيق ولُغةٍ جَزلة.

Tharwat Abaza

A great Egyptian writer and novelist, he is a prominent figure in the Sharkia Governorate and has many contributions to literature. He is from the Abaza family, one of the oldest families in Egypt. It is a literary family that presented giants of Arabic literature, headed by his father, the writer Desouki Abaza, his uncle, the poet Aziz Abaza, and his uncle, the great writer Fikri Abaza. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Fouad I University in 1950, and began his working life as a lawyer. He began his literary life at the age of sixteen, which is an early start, and turned to writing short stories and radio dramas, and his name began to be repeated on the radio. He was editor-in-chief of the Radio and Television Magazine in 1974, and headed the literary section of Al-Ahram newspaper between 1975 and 1988 and continued to write in the same newspaper until his death. He also served as president of the Writers' Union. He held the position of Under-Secretary of the Shura Council, as well as a member of the Supreme Council for Culture, the Specialized National Councils, the Board of Trustees of the Radio and Television Union, an honorary president of the Modern Literature Association, and a member of the International PEN Club. Tharwat Abaza wrote several stories and novels, a number of which were turned into films and television series. He also wrote more than forty radio plays, forty short stories and twenty-seven long novels. He also received several awards, including the State Encouragement Award in 1958, the Medal of Science and Arts of the first class, and the State Appreciation Award in Literature in 1982. On March 17, 2003, he died after a long struggle with illness due to a malignant tumor in the stomach.
