لم تعرف أية منطقة أوروبية هذا القدر من المعاناة والدمار اللذين شهدهما اقليم البلقان، وبشكل خاص منذ نهاية الحرب العالمية الثانية. ربما تكون الفظاعات التي حدثت –وتستمر في الحدوث- في هذه المساحة من الأرض، التي كانت تسمى يوغوسلافيا سابقاً، متفردة في شراستها وانعدام إنسانيتها، حيث يمكن استعراض انعدام انسانية بني البشر تجاه بعضهم بكل المظاهر الرهيبة، ويحتمل بثها احياناً عن طريق التلفاز إلى العالم. جرت كتابة بضعة كتب ومقالات حول " الفظائع البلقانية" بعد هزيمة الامبراطورية العثمانية في أوروبا. لكن أحداً لم يزعج نفسه لأن يبحث في خلفية الناس "المزعومين" الذين اقترفوا تلك الفظائع أو الذين اقترفت بحقهم تلك الفظائع. لقد دونت تلك الفظائع على اعتبارها حرب استنزاف بين المسلمين (الأتراك) والمسيحين (الصرب): شكلاً من الصليبية السلافية حينما قدمت روسيا لنجدة أشقائها السلافيين بقوة السلاح.

Mohiuddin Qandour

Dr.. Mohieddin Qandour is an American director and novelist of Circassian origin. Born in Amman, Jordan, 1938. He immigrated to the United States at the age of thirteen to complete his studies there. He graduated from the Department of History at Earlham College in America and studied economics and international relations at Claremont University in California, from which he obtained master's and doctoral degrees. He worked for several years in the field of business administration with multinational organizations in both New York and London. He published his first novel (The Hijacking of the Plane) in New York in 1970, and his second novel (The Rift) was published in Los Angeles in 1971. He directed several other films, including the movie (The Ghosts of Edgar Allan Poe) 1972, for which he won an international award. He issued several Circassian historical novels in English, namely (The Caucasus Trilogy) in three large parts, namely (Chechen Swords), (Kazbek Al-Qabartay) and (The Triple Conspiracy) in 1994 AD, and it was translated into Arabic in 2005 AD, and a novel (The Balkan Story) was issued to him in 1995 AD as it was issued to him The novels (The Revolution), (The Myth), (Dangerous Alliances), (Loss in the Country of Chechnya), and a study on (The Muridian Movement - Study of the Caucasian Wars), all in English. He has musical creations as he composed Circassian musical pieces and redistributed well-known Circassian folk melodies such as (The Caucasian Dance), (Qafa), (Zigalat), (Oman’s Song), (The Girl of Al-Qabartay), (Dog) and the Dance of Heroes. He is an expert in breeding Arab and Circassian horses, and he has a movie about (The Horses), which is an international referee in various horse competitions.
