Munther Qabbani
A Saudi doctor and novelist whose name has emerged in recent years as one of the most prominent Saudi novelists who contributed to the spread of the Saudi novel in the Arab world. Munther Al-Qabbani obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgeon from King Saud University College of Medicine in 1994. After that, he specialized in the field of General Surgeon, where he obtained the Canadian Board of Directors from the University of Toronto, Canada in 2001. Subsequently, he specialized in liver and pancreatic surgery at the University of British Columbia, Canada, until 2003, before returning to his homeland, Saudi Arabia. He published some articles in local newspapers, but his name shone in the world of writing and literature after the publication of his first novel, The Shadow Government. The Shadow Government novel is one of the most successful Arabic novels published in recent years, and it has met with great response among forums and blogs, and the press reported it as a new Saudi novel phenomenon different from the rest of the Saudi novels that witnessed the recent novelistic boom. In 2007, the Shadow Government novel topped the list of Arab best-selling novels according to the Nile and Euphrates website, and the author was released in 2008, The Return of the Absent, and it also topped the list of Arab books bestsellers in the first week of its release and then ended the year among the best-selling books according to Asbar Center The Nile and Euphrates website was then chosen by the Arab Writers Union among the list of the 100 best Arabic novels. Munther Al-Qabbani is considered the owner of a new style in the Arabic novel that combines suspense with an intellectual and historical dimension. Some critics even called this method intellectual suspense.
