Youssef Abdel Muti Damra is a Palestinian writer born in Aqabat Jabr / Jericho in 1953. He finished his secondary studies in the Jordanian city of Zarqa. He obtained a diploma in physical therapy from the Institute of Medical Professions in Amman (1976). He worked in the field of nursing and in the Jordanian press, and corresponded to a number of Arab newspapers, and worked as an editor for the Children's Culture page in the Jordanian newspaper, Arab Al-Youm, and prepared a number of cultural programs for the Jordanian radio. He is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association, and was elected as a member of its administrative board, for several terms, and served as the association's vice president for four years. He won the State Incentive Award in the field of the short story (1995), and he also won the Mahmoud Seif Al-Din Iranian Award for the short story, granted by the Jordanian Writers Association (1983).
