Early in his career, Ibrahim Ramzi was appointed as a translator at the Civil Court of Khartoum, and in the meantime, he met Imam Muhammad Abdu, who had great admiration for Ramzi's prowess in Arabic, and his passion and great knowledge of English literature. Ibrahim Ramzy returned to Cairo to work as a translator at Al-Liwaa newspaper, and then moved to work as editor-in-chief of the literary section of Al-Balagh newspaper. He also worked as an inspector for teachers’ schools, and was promoted to being appointed secretary of the Higher Committee for Missions, and he remained in this position until he was retired in 1944. Ibrahim Ramzy left about fifty books between an author and a translator, of various shapes and colors between historical plays and social comedy plays, as he presented and treated many social and ethical problems related to the Egyptian environment. Many of his plays were represented, such as “Al-Hakim Bi-Amr Allah” represented by “George Abyad” and directed by “Zaki Tulaimat” and the play “The Heroes of Mansoura” represented by the “Abdul Rahman Rushdi” Troupe, and other plays such as “Al-Badawiya” and “Bint Al-Akhshid”. Ramzi’s creativity in the field of writing is no less than his creativity in the field of translation, as he translated many masterpieces of world literature, including: “Caesar and Cleopatra” by Bernard Shaw, “King Lear” and “The Taming of the Shrew” by Shakespeare, and “Enemy of the People” by Ibsen, and this The latter, in particular, was greatly influenced by Ramsey.
