Twentieth century novel. Coming from the far east of the Arab world, where there are no traditions for the art of the novel, and where poetry still retains the greatest place. And the secret of my astonishment was not only that, but perhaps that did not surprise me until after the novel itself surprised me with its precise contemporary artistic construction, and the extent of slander, love, violence, cruelty, and the thought that permeates all within it. . His sponsorship of a large number of short story and novel writers, and his embrace of creative literary talents, have become a remarkable presence on the Kuwaiti and Arab arena.
