Abd al-Malik ibn Yahya ibn Abd al-Qadir ibn Abd al-Karim ibn Muhammad ibn Hassan ibn Mustafa ibn Salim al-Ruwai’i al-Dahmashi (or al-Dahamshe). He was born in the village of Kafr Kana (Qana al-Jalil) in the Galilee, north of historic Palestine, and what is known today in northern Israel, on March 4, 1945. A Palestinian politician and one of the most prominent political leaders in the Islamic movement in Israel, he headed the United Arab List since its launch in 1996 until 2006 and fought with it Three parliamentary sessions.
