A Tunisian writer, translator and writer currently residing in Berlin, Germany. He studied social sciences at the Sorbonne University in Paris, and philosophy and social sciences at the Free University in Berlin. He taught at secondary education institutes in Tunisia from 1980 to 1989, and practiced journalistic writing for many Tunisian newspapers and magazines. He has many intellectual contributions, and pays special attention to literary and philosophical translation. He translated the works of the German philosopher Nietzsche from German into Arabic directly because he says that the Arabic translation (which relied on translation from French into Arabic is “really poor or a disaster,” as he told in a press interview. He was awarded the Ibn Battuta Prize for the Contemporary Journey of 2004)
