She was born in the city of Jableh in 1970. She works in the field of press and television. She published her first collection of short stories in Damascus in 1999 entitled "Autumn Bouquet", then she joined another group entitled "Women's Vocabulary" in 2002. Then she turned to writing the novel and published three novels: "Child of Heaven" 2002, "Salsal" 2005 and "The Smell of Cinnamon" by Dar Al-Adab 2008. Her second novel, Salsal, received media attention and was reprinted 4 times. Samar Yazbek writes screenplays and series for television.
