كلُّ من عاشَ في الدَّار يصيرُ من أهلها؛ حمامُ الدَّار لا يغيب وأفعى الدَّار لا تخون، هذا ما قالتهُ لي بصيرة قبلَ سنتين من يومِنا ذاك، جدَّةُ والدي، أو رُبَّما جدَّةُ جدَّتِه، لا أدري فهي قديمةٌ جدًا، أزليَّة، ساكنةٌ في زاويةِ بهو البيت العربي القديم، ملتحِفةً سوادَها أسفلَ السُّلَّم. لماذا أسفلَ السُّلَّم؟ لم أسأل نفسي يومًا عن مواضع أشياءٍ اعتدتُها مُنذ مولدي، في بيتٍ عربيٍّ تطلُّ حُجُراته الضيِّقة على بهوٍ داخلي غير مسقوف، بهو بصيرة التي لم أرَها تفتحُ عينيها يومًا، كأنما خِيطَ جفناها برموشها منذ الأزل
Saud Al-Sanousi
Saud Al-Sanousi (born in 1981) is a Kuwaiti writer and novelist, member of the Writers Association in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association. In 2013, he won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his novel The Bamboo Stalk. It is a novel that deals with the issue of foreign labor in the Gulf countries. It was selected from among 133 novels submitted for the award. He writes for the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas. He previously published the story "The Bonsai and the Old Man", which won first place in the short story competition conducted by the Kuwaiti Al-Arabi magazine in cooperation with BBC Arabic. He has previously published the novel "Prisoner of Mirrors", which won the fourth edition of the Laila Al-Othman Prize for Youth Creativity in Story and Novel.
