Book Description

Edward Page Mitchell

Edward Page Mitchell is an American writer and editor, born in 1852, who is considered one of the key figures in the development of science fiction literature. later described as "the lost giant of American science fiction literature"; He wrote many science fiction stories from the 1870s to the 1890s, almost all of which were published anonymously in the New York daily The Sun. His writings contained many bold and ahead of their time technological and social predictions, among them electric heating, the temporary freezing of humans, the time-travel machine, travel faster than the speed of light, suffrage for American women, and interracial intercourse. His fictional stories include everything that is mysterious and strange, including ghosts, demons, masochism, the transformation of inanimate objects into living beings, and much more.
