Mohamed Al-Ash'ari (1951, Zarhoun) is a Moroccan politician, poet and novelist. He worked in the press and the political field, which led him to parliamentary and governmental responsibilities, including the position of Minister of Culture. He published his first poetry collection in 1978. He has ten books, a collection of short stories, and one novel, "The Bow and the Butterfly", which won the Arab Booker Prize. Among his collections: The Neighing of Wounded Horses 1978. Samples with the Capacity of a Dream 1981. The Diary of Fire and Travel 1983. The Biography of Rain 1988. Watercolors, 1994. The Novel and Story A Hard Day (collection of short stories) 1992. The Bow and the Butterfly, a novel, 2010. Awards shared for his novel "The Bow and the Butterfly" And “The Pigeon Collar” by Saudi Arabia, Raja Alem, the Arab Booker Prize for Fiction for 2011. This is the first time since the launch of Booker in 2008 that a writer has won the award, and the first time a Moroccan writer has won, and it is the first time he has shared the 50-worth prize. A thousand dollars, and the irony is that the two novels were issued by one house, the Arab Cultural Center.
