He has several books and scientific research in Islamic thought, mysticism, and the history of Arab medicine. He has literary contributions to published novels, and he has periodical and non-periodic articles in a number of Arab newspapers. He worked as director of the Manuscript Center in Alexandria in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
