Book Description
Wajih Ghali
Wagih Ghaly, an Egyptian writer, has only one novel, Beer in the Billiards Club, which he wrote during his stay in the early sixties between Berlin and London. During the period in which he began writing his first and only novel, and also worked as a reporter and wrote investigations for the Sunday Times magazine, based on his visit to Israel in the 1960s, Wajih Ghaly committed suicide in the apartment of English writer Diana Athill in 1969. Wagih Ghaly was born and lived in Cairo, no one knows exactly any information about the first part of Wagih Ghaly's life, and some doubt that this is his pseudonym, his date of birth is unknown, but the date of death is confirmed by the English writer Diana Athill, and it is most likely that Beer's novel in The Billiard Club is a semi-autobiography of Logis Galli.
