Ezzeldin Shukri Fasher, Egyptian writer. He has published six novels: “The Exit Door: Ali’s Message of Unexpected Joy” (2012), “A Hug at the Brooklyn Bridge” (2011), “Abu Omar al-Masry” (2010), “The Intensive Care Room” (2008), “The Travels of the Pharaohs.” (1999) and "The Murder of Fakhruddin" (1995) His third novel (The Intensive Care Room) received strong attention from critics and audiences alike, and was nominated for the Arab Booker Prize (the longlist), sparking interest in Fischer's literary work, which was even obscure.
