The writer has held many positions; Where he worked as a private secretary to Khedive Abbas Hilmi II after the British removed him to Constantinople, and he performed the Hajj with him. He also benefited from his political secrets, and became a press representative of the Khedive in addition to his work as his translator in Egypt. Ahmed Hafez used his pen to serve the Khedive. This was indicated by Muhammad Farid in his memoirs, in which he demonstrated the extent of the writer’s loyalty and devotion to Khedive Abbas, and he proves that sincerity by saying: “Othman, Hafez Awad and others were seeking among the students in Paris to lure them in order to get closer to the Khedive.” Ahmed Hafez also met the Indian poet "Rabindranath Tagore" and joined the court of Her Majesty; He worked as a writer for Al-Moayad newspaper, then issued the “Kawkab Al-Sharq” magazine, a daily delegation magazine that lasted for about 20 years. The writer enriched the literary and intellectual scene with many books, including: the book “The Conquest of Modern Egypt or Napoleon Bonaparte in Egypt”, the book “Words for the Cause of Life” and his story “The Orphan”, which he gave to the Egyptian Book House. He passed away in Cairo in 1950.
