لم يكن لي شأنٌ بما هو آنيُّ الحدوث ، إلاّ بقدر ما يُتيح لي أن أسبُر َ القاعدة أو الأرض التي أنتجتهُ ، مُحاولاً فهمه مُقيماً إيّاه فوقها • ولم ألتفت إلى ما هو "فاقع الألوان والإضاءة والصوت" ، إلاّ بمد قدرته على استفزازي لأن أُعاين نقائضه الغاطسة في "رماد نسيانها" ، و"شحوب عتماتها" ، و"انكتام أوانها" ــ بمعنى أنّ الذي يحتل المتون عند غيري ، يُحيلُني ، رُبما بسب ريبتي الأوليّة بكلّ ما هو مُعَمَّم ، إلى القاطنين في الهوامش •• رُغماً عنهم • كأنّما نصوص الرواية والقصة القصير أخرجت منّى بعضاً من إرهاصات الأسئلة الأكثر نغلاً فيَّ • أو هي كانت بذاتها متلبّسة بحيرتي تجاهها ؛ فكانت تفكّرات هذا الكتاب محاولاتي المتوالية لاكتشاف كُنه ما كتبتهُ ، وما سوف أكتبه كذلك : كُنه العالم الذي أعيشُ داخله ، وكُنه التقرّب منه بالتوازي والتشابك منه عبر الكتابة فيه ، وليس عنه ، بالتأكيد•

Elias Farkouh

Jordanian novelist and writer, born in Amman in 1948, obtained a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Beirut Arab University. He worked in cultural journalism during the years 1977-1979, and participated in editing the cultural magazine Al-Mahd, and the poet Taher Riyad participated in the management of Manarat Publishing House during the years 1980 -1991, and then founded Azmina House for Publishing and Distribution in 1992, where he works as its director. He is one of the founders of the Jordanian Publishers Association, and he is a member of the aforementioned union, the Union of Arab Writers and Writers, and the Jordanian Writers Association, of which he served as a member of its administrative board for several sessions. His novel Qamat al-Zabad won the State Encouragement Award for the year 1990, and he won the State Appreciation Award in the field of short story in 1997. He also won the Mahmoud Seif Al-Din Iranian Short Story Award from the Jordanian Writers Association, and the Association had awarded him the award for best short story collection for the year 1982 for his one collection Twenty bullets for the Prophet.
