Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Faqih
A Libyan writer and university professor in modern Arabic literature, he gives lectures in a number of Libyan, Egyptian and Moroccan universities and has translated a number of literary works into multiple languages. Ahmed Ibrahim al-Faqih was born on December 28, 1942 in the town of Mazdah, south of Tripoli, Libya. He left for Tripoli, where he studied to obtain a doctorate degree in modern Arabic literature from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He began publishing his articles and short stories in Libyan newspapers, starting in 1959. His short story collection "The Sea Without Water" won first place in the prizes of the Supreme Committee for Literature and Arts in Libya. He worked in a number of press institutions and served as the ambassador of Libya in Athens and Bucharest. He has published more than thirty books, some of which were published in Tripoli and others from major Arab publishing houses. His books include: Locusts, Mice Without Burrows, Ash Fields (1985) and the Novel Trilogy (1991).
