تركز هذه الرواية على بطلنا "حسام الشناوي" الذي بالرغم من وسامته وثروته ومكانته الإجتماعية ألا أنه تعرض للهجر من قبل زوجته "رجاء" التي كان يحبها بشدة وقد تركت طفلهما "احمد" ليقوم بتربيته بنفسه.. ﻭﺑﺴﺒﺐ تلك الظروف ﺗﺤﻮﻝ ﺍﻟﻰ ﺭﺟﻞ ﺑﺎﺭﺩ ﺍﻟﺪﻡ ﻭﺍﻟﻤﺸﺎﻋﺮ ﻭﻻ ﻳﻬﺘﻢ ﺑﻤﺸﺎﻋﺮ ﺍﻷﺧﺮﻳﻦ ﺣﺘﻰ ﺍﻧﻪ ﺍﺻﺒﺢ ﻳﻌﺎﻣﻞ ﻃﻔﻠﻪ ﺑﻘﺴﻮﺓ.
