Haider Haider

A Syrian writer and writer, born in 1936 in the village of Haseen al-Bahr in Tartous Governorate, where he received his primary education, then joined the Educational Teachers Institute in the city of Aleppo, where he continued his studies and graduated in 1954, then moved to the city of Damascus and communicated there with many writers and intellectuals. He began writing in daily and monthly periodicals, and the Lebanese magazine Al-Adab was the most prominent platform in which he wrote his first stories, which were published in the Hakayat Al-Nawras Al-Muhajir collection in 1968. Haider Haidar is one of the founders of the Arab Writers Union in Damascus in 1968, and was a member of its executive office. Haider Haidar published the Al-Wamda collection in 1970 among a group of books that were the first publications of the Union. In 1970, he was seconded to Algeria to participate in the Arabization Revolution or the Cultural Revolution as the Algerians call it, as a teacher in the city of Anaya, while continuing to write and publish in Arab periodicals. Among his books are the stories of the migratory seagull (stories) first edition: 1968, the Syrian Ministry of Culture - Damascus. Second Edition: 1977 House of Truths - Beirut. Third Edition: 1999 Dar Ward - Damascus. It was directed as a film in 1972 and won several awards, including the Locarno Festival Award, Carlo Vivari Festival, and Damascus New Film Festival.
