• He was born in the village of Al-Jinkel (Al-Qadisiyah) - Al-Haffa District - Lattakia Governorate in 1933. • In 1961, he married Mrs. Sabiha Koussa, with whom he had four sons, engineers: Samer, Essam, Sawsan and Lubna.. • In 1972, he ran for the first local elections for the People's List. • In April 1973, he was arrested on the grounds of his belonging to the Socialist Union, the Abdel-Wahhab Al-Jarrah faction. He was placed in the well-known Mezzeh prison. He was released in the summer of 1975, when he was a student at the Faculty of Law at Cairo University to obtain a Ph.D. • After his release from prison, he resigned at the end of 1975 from governmental work at the Tobacco Corporation, and at the beginning of 1976 went to work as a lawyer. • In April 1991, he became a grandfather for the first time and gave birth to his first grandson, Burhan Samer Zureik, to be followed by a number of grandchildren, amounting to eleven grandchildren, boys and girls. • In April 2001, he suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, which left him with a mild partial paralysis, affecting the movement of his right hand and leg. His crutch became the faithful friend that kept him until death. • In the period that followed 2003, more than 63/ sixty-three authors were presented in addition to a number of research papers and articles that formed a summary of his life and experience. • In July 2006, he lost his wife, beloved, and bond with the death of his wife Umm Samer, may God have mercy on her, following a surgical operation. When he was asked about his desire to repeat the experience of marriage, he said: I am actually married to the book. • He was greatly influenced by the events that happened in his beloved country Syria, but he always told everyone that he was optimistic and even believed in the nation's renaissance and its return to take its role among nations, and he wrote a lot about the ways of the nation's renaissance, its civilized role, and ways of renewing it in many of his books.
