Amin Howeidi
He assumed the presidency of the Egyptian General Intelligence and the Ministry of War during the era of Gamal Abdel Nasser. He was born in the village of Bjerim, the center of Quesna, Menoufia Governorate. He graduated from the Military College and joined the Free Officers Organization to participate in the revolution of July 23, 1952. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences from the Egyptian Military College. Master of Military Sciences from the Egyptian Staff College. Master of Military Sciences from the American Command and Staff College, which is the most prestigious command college that headed the Egyptian General Intelligence and the Ministry of War during the era of Gamal Abdel Nasser. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences from the Egyptian Military College. Master of Military Sciences from the Egyptian Staff College. A master’s degree in military sciences from the American Command and Staff College, which is the most prestigious command college attended by a foreigner of non-American parents. MA in Journalism, Translation and Publishing from Cairo University. The most important positions are a teacher at the Military College, a professor at the Staff College, and the head of the plans department in military operations led by the armed forces. He explained the plan to defend Port Said and the plan to defend Cairo in the 56th war. Before 67 he was deputy chief of the General Intelligence Service and after the defeat of 67 he took over Head of the Intelligence Service. He was an advisor to President Abdel Nasser for political affairs, then ambassador to Morocco and Baghdad. He assumed the position of Minister of National Guidance, then Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, then made President Abdel Nasser choose him as head of the General Intelligence and Minister of Egyptian War after the setback of June 1967, in a precedent that Egypt had not known before. Abdel Nasser's goal was to rebuild the Egyptian armed forces away from the centers of power whose struggles contributed to the setback]. The most important achievements after the setback He oversaw the operation to destroy the Israeli destroyer Eilat on October 21, 1967. He also oversaw a massive operation known as Operation Drilling, after the name of the Israeli oil rig, which was booby-trapped and destroyed a large part of it, on March 28, 1968
