Book Description
Festival by New York Times bestselling author Christopher Golden, co-written with acclaimed horror writer Tim Lebbon, is a gripping illustrated horror novel that turns a modern music celebration into a terrifying battle for survival. Brought vividly to life with haunting artwork by Peter Bergting, this book blends ancient myth, supernatural suspense, and contemporary horror.
The story centers on the Valhalla Music Festival, a massive outdoor event built on land marked by a brutal Viking-era massacre. What was meant to be a tribute to history and heavy music quickly becomes something far more sinister. As thousands of fans gather to enjoy the performances, unsettling events begin to unfold across the festival grounds.
Attendees start to vanish without explanation, and panic spreads as rumors of something lurking in the shadows take hold. Even more disturbing, some of the musicians find themselves playing unfamiliar, ancient songs—melodies that seem to surface from deep within them, as if guided by an unseen force. These performances awaken something old and violent, tied to the blood-soaked past of the land.
As night falls and chaos grows, festival-goers must uncover the truth behind Valhalla’s dark history before the ancient evil fully rises. The line between myth and reality dissolves, and the celebration of music becomes a fight against a relentless supernatural threat.
