Book Description

Don’t You Love Your Daddy by bestselling author Toni Maguire is a powerful and deeply moving true story that exposes the devastating effects of childhood abuse, parental neglect, and betrayal. Written with compassion and honesty, this book gives a voice to survivors whose suffering is often hidden behind closed doors.

The story follows Sally East, whose childhood was marked by trauma from an early age. At just three years old, she became the victim of inappropriate behavior by the one person meant to protect her—her father. As he slowly groomed her, Sally’s home offered no refuge. Her mother, struggling with manic depression, was emotionally absent for long periods, leaving Sally to cope alone. Despite the neglect, Sally clung to her love for her mother, patiently waiting for the “good days” to return.

Tragedy struck again when Sally was only six years old and her mother died. Instead of finding comfort and safety, Sally’s life became even more unbearable. With no one left to intervene, her father’s abuse escalated, leaving deep emotional scars. The confusion of yearning for love and care from the same person causing her pain planted lasting feelings of guilt, shame, and self-loathing—emotions that followed her well into adulthood.

Toni Maguire tells Sally’s story with sensitivity and strength, highlighting not only the immediate horror of abuse but also its long-term psychological impact. The book explores how childhood trauma shapes identity, relationships, and self-worth, while also emphasizing the possibility of healing.

Today, Sally has rebuilt her life. Through a supportive relationship and motherhood, she has found stability, love, and hope.

Toni Maguire

Toni Maguire is a British writer who gained great fame in writing biographies and her autobiography "Don't Tell Mama" was her first book to be a bestseller in the UK in 2007, prompting her to release the second part of her autobiography "When Daddy Comes Home" which Maguire's fame cemented her first book. And the resounding success of her first two books, which were about her exposure to sexual exploitation by her father, encouraged many to tell their stories about Maguire's sexual exploitation, which formed her library on the subject, after which she publishes five additional books, all of which are biographies of individuals who were sexually exploited by their relatives. She is now in the process of publishing her first novel. After this journey of success in the world of personal bios. Perhaps I have to clarify the difference between a CV and a personal biography. A biography is the story of the life of the writer himself.. he writes it in a narrative form that is somewhat similar to a novel.. while a personal biography is the story of the life of someone other than the writer.. he writes it in a manner that the writer deems appropriate. This book is undoubtedly tragic. The fact that it is autobiographical rather than a novel enhances the emotional impact of its subject on the reader. This book expresses Maguire's chest, who was sexually abused by her father in her childhood for seven years, and these abuses began since she was six years old and continued until the age of thirteen and she had a miscarriage once.. At the age of fifteen she had committed Two unsuccessful suicide attempts.. She spent three years in a mental hospital for depression.
