Book Description
Although nanotechnology applied to medicine has a potentially huge impact on drug delivery and tissue engineering, significant challenges need to be resolved before clinically viable nanomedicine or nanobiomedicine therapies will be available. Skillfully edited, with contributions from an expert panel of researchers, Nanotechnology in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine discusses the use of nanotechnology for medical applications with a focus on its use for drug delivery and tissue engineering. It sheds light on the challenges facing the field and examines cutting-edge research that may provide solutions.
Ketul Popat
Ketul Popat is an assistant professor i n t he Department o f M echanical Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering at Colorado State University. His research is on developing nanoscale materials for tissue engineering regenerative medicine, with particular emphasis on understanding the structure–function rel ationship b etween na nomaterials a nd t issues. H e h as p ublished over 30 peer-reviewed papers, 50 abstracts, and 3 pending patents. He received his PhD in bioengineering from University of Illinois at Chicago, MS in chemical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and BE in chemical engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India.
