Hari Singh Nalwa
DR HARI SINGH NALWA is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of American Scientific Publishers which he founded in 2000. He played a critical role in promoting the field of nanotechnology as well as cutting-edge scientific research in materials science. He is distinguished around the world as a scientist, academician, entrepreneur, businessman, publisher and prolific author and editor after two decades of vigorous work and dedication. Dr. Nalwa was the Head of Department and R&D Manager at Ciba Specialty Chemical Corporation in USA (1999-2000) and a staff scientist at the Hitachi Research Laboratory, Hitachi Ltd. Japan (1990-1999). While working at Hitachi Ltd., he was also concurrently an Honorary Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in New Delhi. He was a Guest Scientist at Hahn-Meitner Institute in West Berlin, Germany (1983-1984), Research Associate at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (1984-1987) and State University of New York at Buffalo (1987-1988) and Lecturer at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Japan (1988 –1990). Dr. Nalwa was the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines” published by John Wiley (1997-2000). He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2001-) and Advanced Science Letters (2008-) and Advanced Science, Engineering and Medicine (2009-) published by American Scientific Publishers (2007- ). He has been on the Editorial Board of several international journals as well a referee for many scientific journals. He has served on the organizing committees of many international scientific conferences around the world. Dr. Nalwa has authored over 150 scientific articles, 25 book chapters, 18 patents and 114 scientific books in the field of materials science including electronic and photonic materials and their based devices. Dr. Nalwa is an international authority who has written and edited 114 scientific books for the scientific community. Dr. Nalwa received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in biosciences from the Meerut University in 1974, a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee in 1977 and a PhD degree in Polymer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in New Delhi in 1983.
