Book Description
Capture a Stranger by Lilian Peake is a powerful and emotionally charged romance about love, deception, and the painful price of trust. Set against the stunning backdrop of Madeira, this captivating novel explores the fine line between passion and betrayal, and the heartbreak that follows when love is built on lies.
When Katherine Matthews agreed to marry the handsome and enigmatic Luis de Freitas, she believed he needed her wealth to secure his future. But soon after their marriage, Katherine uncovers a shocking truth—Luis was never poor at all. He had deceived her from the very beginning, hiding his own fortune behind a mask of charm and manipulation.
Despite the betrayal, Katherine’s love for her husband remains strong. She struggles to reconcile her feelings for the man who captured her heart with the realization that their marriage began in dishonesty. But when she learns of Luis’s affair with the beautiful and cunning Delphine Evans, Katherine’s world completely unravels. The discovery of his unfaithfulness destroys what little trust remained between them, leaving her torn between heartbreak and pride.
As Katherine confronts the truth about her marriage, she must decide whether love can survive such deep wounds—or if walking away is the only way to reclaim her dignity and peace.
