Zakaria Mahran: An Egyptian legal financier, he graduated from the School of Law in Cairo in 1920, worked as a lawyer, then moved to economics and worked with “Talaat Harb” at Banque Misr and its companies before being appointed as a member of the Senate. Among his most important books are “A Brief of Money and Monetary Policy,” and “History Explains Inflation and Deflation.” He died suddenly in Cairo in 1949, during one of the council's sessions.
