Youssef Al-Sayegh (1933-2006 AD) is a poet and writer, from the people of Mosul. Youssef Naoum Daoud Al-Sayegh was born in Mosul into a Christian religious family. Graduated from the Higher Teachers' House (Arabic Language Department) in 1955 AD. After the revolution of 1963, the Baathists put him in prison for his political activity, and he remained in prison until the beginning of the seventies, when he was released to work in the press.
