Tawfiq Habib: Egyptian journalist and translator. Tawfiq Habib Malika was born in 1880 AD into a Coptic family and received a traditional education like most of his peers at the time. He was fascinated by journalism, so he worked as a news informant at first, collecting and recording news, then he began writing a series of articles in Al-Ahram Newspaper under the title “On the Margins,” which he signed under the name “The Old Journalist.” Habib is considered one of the first Egyptian Copts to work in the press. He has authored many books that deal with travel literature and describe his travels, among which we mention “Two Months in Aruba,” “Express Journey from Alexandria and Istanbul,” “The Souvenir of the Coptic Conference,” and others. Tawfiq Habib died in 1941 AD at the age of sixty, of which he spent forty years in the court of Her Majesty (Al Sahafa).
