Shiv Khera, a prominent Indian author, motivational speaker, and activist, has left an enduring impact through his renowned book, "You Can Win." Born into a business-oriented family involved in coal mining, Khera faced the nationalization of their operations by the Indian government. His diverse professional journey included roles as a car washer, life insurance agent, and franchise operator before transitioning to a motivational speaker.

Apart from his literary and motivational pursuits, Khera initiated a movement against caste-based reservation in India and established the Country First Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting freedom through education and justice. However, his career faced scrutiny when allegations of plagiarism arose after the publication of "When Freedom Is Not Free." Amrit Lal, a retired Indian civil servant, accused Khera of incorporating content from his book "India Enough Is Enough," published eight years earlier. Lal further identified instances of unattributed use of anecdotes, jokes, and quotes in Khera's works.

In response to the allegations, Khera defended himself by stating that he drew inspiration from various sources, making it challenging to track and acknowledge each one. Undeterred by controversies, Khera ventured into politics, standing as an independent candidate in the 2004 Indian general elections from the South Delhi constituency, albeit facing defeat. Subsequently, in 2008, he initiated the Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanata Party.

Throughout the 2014 Indian polls, Khera aligned himself with the Bhartiya Janata Party and actively campaigned for Lal Krishna Advani, a senior party member. Additionally, he has been involved in public interest lawsuits in the Indian Supreme Court and contested the 2009 general elections on an anti-corruption platform, although without success. Shiv Khera's multifaceted career reflects his commitment to motivational speaking, social activism, and political engagement, making him a prominent figure in India.
