Said Taqi al-Din: Lebanese writer and playwright. Taqi Al-Din was born in the Lebanese city of Baaklin in 1904 AD, where he received his education, then joined the American University in Lebanon and graduated in 1925 AD. And managing editor of the magazine's mouthpiece. Taqi al-Din began writing play since his early youth. He wrote the play “Lula the Lawyer” when he was twenty years old. His literary and political articles were received by Levantine and Egyptian periodicals and magazines for publication. After his emigration to the Philippines, his style began to become more mature and quality. His famous plays, such as: “Toast to the Enemy” and “A Handful of Wind,” were in addition to various short story collections. Taqi al-Din was appointed honorary consul of Lebanon in the Philippines in 1946 AD. He also belonged to the “Syrian National Party” in the fifties, in addition to his participation in many political events and activities that caused him to be sentenced to death in absentia twice, and after several restrictions he emigrated again to Mexico, and from there to Colombia, where he lived for the rest of his life. Taqi al-Din died in Colombia in 1960.
