Said Khatibi Said Khatibi is an Algerian writer and journalist, born on December 29, 1984. He worked for Al-Jazeera News newspaper, where he contributed for two years in editing the cultural supplement "Al-Athar", then moved to Al-Khobar newspaper. He studied in Algeria and France. He writes in both Arabic and French, and in 2012 he received the Arab Journalism Award. He was especially famous for covering conflict areas in Africa and Eastern Europe. Among his most famous works is "Away from a Star" in 2009, and "Weddings of Fire: The Story of Rai" 2010, which is considered the first documentary book on rai music. He also published in the book "I Crossed the Evening Barefoot" dialogues with the most famous Francophone writers. In 2013, he published his first novel, The Book of Sins, which gained wide critical response in Algeria and the Arab world. In 2015, he published the book “The Burning Gardens of the East”, winning the Ibn Battuta Prize for the Contemporary Journey. He worked as the editor-in-chief of the Doha Cultural Magazine, and resigned from it in 2016. He also founded the Nafha cultural website
