He is an Egyptian politician and Minister of Legal Affairs and People’s Assembly and Shura Affairs, after a cabinet reshuffle in Hisham Qandil’s government in early 2013. Salem was born in the village of Sheikh Ziyad in Maghagha district, Minya governorate. He is a professor of criminal law at Cairo University, and he holds a doctorate in criminal law. Dean of the Faculty of Law at Cairo University.
