Nicolas Fayyad: He is a Lebanese poet, translator, preacher, physician, and member of the Arab Scientific Academy (the Academy of the Arabic Language) in Damascus. He was born in 1873 AD in Beirut into a family that loves literature, art and poetry, where his brother was the famous poet Elias Fayyad. He received his education at the “Three Moons” Orthodox School, and after graduating from school, he worked for two years in commerce, then left it and joined the French Medical College in Beirut, where he worked as a doctor after graduation in a hospital until he traveled in 1906 to Paris to specialize in medicine, where he spent five years and then returned to Egypt, where he spent nearly twenty years traveling between Alexandria and Cairo. He loved literature and poetry since his childhood and contributed to the literary movement since his youth and continued to write during his working years until he devote himself entirely to practicing medicine, literature and translation after he left government jobs. The play includes the poem "The Lake" by the French poet "Alphonse de Lamartine". He died in 1958 at the age of eighty-five.
