Mustafa Lutfi bin Muhammad Lutfi bin Hassan Lutfi is an Egyptian writer and poet who excelled in creation and literature. He was unique in his articles in a pure style. He has good poetry in which there is gentleness. He has done a lot of translation and quoting from some of the famous French literature novels in a unique literary style, and a very wonderful Arabic formulation. He was not fluent in the French language, so he used his friends who were translating novels for him, and then he drafted and refined them in a literary form. His two books, Looks and Lessons, are among the most informed of what was written in the modern era. Mustafa Lutfi Al-Manfaluti was born in Manfaluti, one of the cities of Assiut Governorate, in the year 1289 AH corresponding to 1876 AD. Then his father sent him to Al-Azhar in Cairo under the auspices of his comrades from his country, and he was given the opportunity to study at the hands of Sheikh Muhammad Abdo, and after the death of his teacher, Al-Manfaluti returned to his country, where he stayed for two years, devote himself to studying the books of ancient literature. A special style depends on his feeling and sensitivity of himself. Al-Manfaluti was one of the writers whose method of construction had an impact on the present generation. He tended to read literary books a lot, and he adhered to Sheikh Muhammad Abdo and benefited from him. He was imprisoned for six months because of a poem he uttered insultingly to Khedive Abbas Helmy and was at odds with Muhammad Abdo, and he published several articles in Al-Moayyad newspaper under the title of looks.
