Moussa Ould Abnou (born in 1956 in Boutlimit, Mauritania) is one of Mauritania's greatest novelists. He published two novels in French: Lamour Impossible (1990) and For Barzakh (1994), which were later published in Arabic as: The Impossible Love (1999), and The City of Winds (1996). Ibnu has also published two other works in Arabic: Hajj al-Fajr (2003), and Mauritanian Proverbs and Wisdom of Compliance and Marian Folk Judgment.
He is also a politician who held several important positions, as he worked for a while as an advisor to former President Maaouya Ould Sidi Ahmed Taya.
