Khairy Ahmed Shalaby was born in the village of Shabas Omair, Qalin Center, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. He passed away on the morning of Friday 9-9 2011, at the age of 73. Khairy Shalaby is an Egyptian writer and novelist with seventy books, one of his most prominent works is the Al-Watad series, based on a story of the same name, starring the late Egyptian actress Hoda Sultan in the main role of "Fatima Talaba".
