Lebanese novelist and writer. He has in the novel "Matilde's Building", "Penguin Singing", "Playing the White Quarter" and "Light Makeup for Tonight". And in the story "Under Angie's Balcony" and "An Angel's Picnic". His novels have been translated into English, French, German and Italian. Hassan Daoud was born in 1951. He works as a journalist for the Beirut daily Al-Mustaqbal. He studied Arabic literature at the Lebanese University in Beirut. His first novel in French, "Matilda Village", appeared in 1998, followed by a second novel, "The Last Days," a deep psychological study of aging.
