Haitham Al-Wardani (1972) is an Egyptian writer and media expert based in Berlin. He obtained a BA in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University in 1995. He has published several short stories and literary works, including his third collection of short stories. He received the “First Work” award from the Sawiris Foundation for Egyptian Literature in 2005. He has participated in a number of art projects in Berlin and Cairo, including the exhibition of the New Society for Visual Arts Berlin in 2006. He published three short story collections: “Strings on Circles” (along with others), “The Imperfect Literature Group” (Sawiris Prize for the Short Story 2003), and “A Daydream” (Cairo Book Fair Award for Best Short Story 2012) Al-Wardani began his career as a freelance journalist with Akhbar Al-Adab magazine and other media outlets in Cairo.
