Fadel Al-Azzawi is an Iraqi poet, novelist and translator born in Kirkuk, Iraq in 1940. He obtained a BA in English from the University of Baghdad in 1966 and then traveled to Germany to obtain a doctorate from the University of Leipzig on (the main problems of the development of Arab culture). He is considered one of the founders of the "Kirkuk Group", which includes Sargon Boulos, Jean Demo, Muayyad Al-Rawi and Salah Faeq, which focused on the prose poem. He translated the novel “His Excellency the Dinosaurs” by the Portuguese novelist Jose Cardozo, and the translation was published by Dar Al-Mada in Damascus in 1994. The novel “Fadel Al-Azzawi’s Wonderful Creatures” published in 1969 and then republished by Dar Al-Jamal in 2002. 2. The novel “The Fifth Castle” published in 1969 and then published by Al-Jamal Publications in 2002 and turned into a movie . 3. The ancestor's narrative. 4. The novel "The Last of the Angels" published in 1992 and translated into English under the title The Last of the Angels in 2007.
